1-2 Weeks before:

  • Tune Up (Perform any regularly scheduled maintenance, and take care of any strange noises, vibrations, or leaks.)

  • Check for schedule updates

Night before:

  • Check Local website to make sure the autocross hasn't been cancelled

http://www.autox4u.com  |   http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NERDS_racing/

  • Directions (make sure you know where you are going, duh)

  • Money (at least enough for registration ;)

  • Food

  • Water

  • Clothing (check the weather to see what is appropriate for driving and working)

  • Helmet

  • Tire Pressure Gauge

  • Air Tank (filled) - or - compressor

  • Motor Oil (and any other fluids that may be necessary)

  • Numbers - or - White Shoe Polish (most event holders have shoe polish... I just hate running around looking for it.

  • Remove Center Caps - or - Hub Caps

  • Chalk (optional for marking the sidewalls of your tires)

  • Gas (make sure you'll have at least a 1/4 tank after driving to the event)

  • Clean out car (all change, trash, floor mats, snot rags, CDs, etc.)

  • Tools

  • Jack (if necessary)

  • Brake pads (bring an extra set for Track Day Events)

  • Tarp (optional)

  • Milk Crate or Large "Rubbermaid" Tub with a lid (use this to put everything taken out of your car once there.  The Tub works best for inclement weather.)

  • Camera/Video

  • Medications

For the "pros": (and/or)

  • Adjust suspension

  • Bring race tires and wheels

  • Load Car on Trailer

  • Check trailer - brake lights and/or brakes, tire pressures

  • Check battery

  • Check fluids

  • Race Suit/Gloves/Shoes/Neck brace

At the "Track":

  • Register

  • Clean out car (see "Night before" section)

  • Remove spare tire (optional)

  • Walk the track

  • Tech. Inspection

  • Walk the track

  • Adjust Tire Pressure

  • Oh and did I mention... Walk the Track?

  • Staging/Working/Racing/B.S.ing

  • Make sure Lugs are tight (do this after racing as well)

Before you leave

  • Clean up

  • Trophies?

  • Readjust tire pressure (suspension if necessary)

  • Check Lug Nuts
