Lancaster County Corvette Club Autocross Article by: Mike Louie - Sunday, May 15, 2005 Photos by: David Hess
Photo (right) from South Jersey event (10/31/04) So it was Rob Beck, Scott Brenneman, and alot of faces I saw at the Park City event last weekend (5/8/2005). Even Ron Sibulsky (from the NEPA Region) in his FM car showed up - and right there I thought I was going to have my butt handed to me on a silver platter. The course started with a 5 cone slalom, into a right hand turn, into a 4 cone slalom into some offset gates. From here you went into a downhill section with a 2 cone slalom and turn left and make a u- turn to go back up the hill, turn back around to the 2 cone slalom and u-turn (again) and up the hill. About 1/8 mile straight away to a braking zone, wiggle around HUGE cone (go left), go through a gate, and crank the steering wheel hard right to get through the next gate. Two cone slalom and into a hard left hand turn and through a 2 cone slalom to the finish line. (Click here or the map below for a larger view) In the morning only 2 cars made it into the 40s. me and another Corvette. I had FTD in the morning with a 48.0. If Rob would have kept his runs clean he would have been in the 48s also. I couldn't see Scott's times though. Afternoon brought some light spritzes of rain. Got to talk to alot of people who saw our event at Park City or heard about it. So word is getting around.
