What is NERDS racing? (North East Recreational Driving Schedule) Info. on Driving, Racing, Autocrossing, Track Days, High Performance Driver's Education, Budget Racing, Go-Karting, R/C Racing and the Adrenaline Rush that results.
Are we cool? Hell no. NERDS racing started out simply as a yahoo group to inform a few friends about autocrosses and track day events in the Northeast. The focus of this website is to highlight events that do not require special licensing. Much of the work you see before you, is a combined effort, continually evolving into an entertaining and informative website covering the grassroots of racing.
Why are we doing this? To bring attention to grassroots racing and to highlight local, Northeast, events and drivers.
This site is about you: Without the contribution of drivers like you this site would not exist, well OK it would exist, but it's so much better with your input, your stories, and your images.
Become a "NERD" and add your club's event: We want to know about it. Join the yahoo group and add your dates to the calendar. The events listed on this site come directly the yahoo group calendar. If an event requires a special license PLEASE indicate that.

What are the webmasters getting out of this? In a word Experience. We, Mark Yeck and I (David Hess) are learning about internet stuff, racing, and publishing. Mark is in charge of the more technical side including the Gallery and the New Forum area, while I handle the more artsy side. It's a great outlet for us both. We also gain, driving input, theories, help, friendship, and enjoyment. However it's not just the two of us who make this stuff happen. We have a growing number of contributors, writers, photographers, and BS artists helping. These are just a few NERDS.
Mark and I are like Pinky and the Brain. Mark comes across like Pinky, but is really the smart one, I'm more like the Brain, spouting off at will and often looking like a moron. 8)

To become a "NERD" means you are interested in participating, or at least hearing about, NorthEastern Recreational Driving Events and their happenings. On a deeper level to refer to yourself as a "NERD" means that you recognize the need to be humble, understand the need to laugh at one's self and understand the need to continue to learn.
